How will you ‘Be Seen Being Green’ on the 15th of September?
As part of our new Awareness Day competition we’ve come up some wacky ideas to get your creative juices flowing.😎 Whether you’re competitive, creative, a great cook, or just an attention-seeker 😂 we have you covered! Pick one of the ideas below or come up with your own!
Even if just one new person learns about Myotonic Dystrophy as a result of your green antics then it’s worth doing.
- Dye your hair green (see Bradley Cartwright of ‘Together for Toby’ for hair dye recommendations!)
- Go to your office job dressed as a green goblin.
- Have a green cocktail party – cucumber jalapeño margarita anyone? (Any booze with green food colouring can count as a cocktail!)
- Get your school mates to all wear green socks/head bands/what your school will let you get away with!
- Do the big weekly shop dressed as a leprechaun.
- Make matching green friendship bracelets/loom band for you and your mates.
- Invite your friends and family over for matcha smoothies and/or green pistachio cake.
- Host ‘The Greener Prize’ (where family members create and showcase green art pieces and vote for a winner.) Supply green Playdough, paints and of course lots of nibbles!
- Board the commuter train with green face paint.
- Blast Kermit The Frog’s It’s Not Easy Being Green from you boombox on your local highstreet on repeat (but you do so at your own risk!)
- Make and display Awareness Day Posters in your community (green felt tips at the ready!)
- Host a kids green themed party complete with green jelly.
- Scare your neighbours by taking a local stroll dressed as The Hulk, Shrek or Yoda.
- Paint a very green tree!
- Give your co-workers green nail varnish manicures on your lunch break.
- Make a mini film, show or song with a green theme and invite your friends and family for a living room performance (you could also live stream it to the CureDM community too if you wish!)
- Have an edamame bean eating contest. Add wasabi to spice things up!
- Have a frozen pea long distance throwing contest with the entire family – think sling shots, straw canons and nerf gun ingenuity.
- Dress as a T-Rex and greet everyone you encounter with a fearsome dino roar.
TOP TIP: If you take it too seriously you’re doing it wrong!
