CureDM are delighted to attend the 15th International Myotonic Dystrophy Consortium. The IDMC is the worlds largest Myotonic Dystrophy scientific conference, held every 2 years. This year it is being held in Saguenay, Canada – where DM is prevelant in around 1 in 600 people (Mathieu and Prévost, 2012)
We are delighted to be able to offer 2x £1000 prizes, for the best poster presentation and oral presentation on Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy. We are able to offer this encouragement for CDM research because of a generous donation received for this specific reason – THANK YOU. Thank you also to the CureDM Together Campaign Together for Toby who also contributed towards the prize.

27.05.2026: To complement the Congenital Onset theme, CureDM Clinical and Research Adviser – Dr Nikoletta Nikolenko moderated the following session. We are delighted to see such representation for CDM and ChDM this year at the IDMC.

28.05.2026: Pete Ashley on LinkedIn – Great start at the IDMC-15 – International Myotonic Dystrophy Consortium Meeting for Cure Myotonic Dystrophy UK Charity. Two 14 hour days with breaks and lunches skipped for meetings, it feels like we’ve been here a week already! Such an amazing gathering of over 400 people working together for the DM community!

We are proud to be present data from our recent community survey as a poster. We are delighted to officially welcome Dr Nikolenko to the CureDM Team, after working together for many years on advancing research and awareness into DM. Dr Nikolenko has co-authored and presented a number of our Charity posters, you can see some of them in our Charity research section.
